As someone who handles multiple iPads for work, the iPad 9 is incredibly responsive.
There's no lag with games or videos, and once you get used to the speed of the iPad 9, even the iPad 8, which is considered fast enough, feels slow.
Of course, it has enough specs for drawing or video editing for work, so if you're looking for comfort and cost performance, the iPad 9 is the best choice.
You probably won't need to replace it for a while.

The design of the iPad 10 and later models without a home button is a matter of preference, so I think the iPad 9, the last model with a home button, will be in higher demand in the future.
Personally, I find it easier to use with a home button.
